Bagua Zhang
Bagua is a very fluid art that focuses on circular movements. Constant turning and twisting movements are governed by the waist, always in motion. A Bagua stylist has been associated with having the movements of a dragon or snake. It combines a wide variety of combat strategies and health practices together to produce a holistic system for both self defense and self development.
Bagua’s basic practice involves circle walking and performing a series of palm changes, turns, changes of stance and direction of force.
Change is fundamental to the practice of Bagua. When applying Bagua in free fighting it is this constant change of centers, force and angles of attack, that overwhelms the opponent / opponents. Bagua is also known as the art of constant change! Once we understand change, we tap into our true power.
Used by the imperial bodyguards of China, Bagua also has a very highly specialized methodology for dealing with multiple attackers.
